You do not need an account to use Friendsmoon. Building a weekend, opening one, and sending the link to anybody asks nothing about who you are.

If you make an account

An account is optional and exists for one thing: keeping a list of the weekends you’ve saved. It holds your email address and, for each saved weekend, the four answers you gave — destination, headcount, nights, and whether you’re after one house or separate rooms. It does not hold a password, because there isn’t one: signing in is a link we email you, it works once, and it stops working after fifteen minutes.

We store your address as a one-way fingerprint rather than in the clear, so the list of who has an account here cannot be read off the database. You can remove any saved weekend from your weekends page, and doing so deletes it.

If you ask us to email you a plan

The plan page can email you the link. If you use it, we keep your address so we can write to you about the site, and nobody else gets it. Every one of those emails has a one-click unsubscribe, and using it is the end of it.

What a plan contains

When you build a weekend, your answers — group shape, headcount, destination and nights — live in the page’s own web address. They are not stored on a server, and are not attached to you unless you save the weekend to an account. Anyone with that link sees the same plan; nobody without it sees anything. If you don’t want the group to have it, don’t send it.

When you type into the page

Two boxes on a finished plan take words: the one that changes the weekend, and the one that answers questions about it. What you type there is sent to Anthropic, who run the model that reads it, and to nobody else. We don’t keep it, and it is not attached to you — what you type into those two boxes is never written to the account store, signed in or not. Anthropic’s handling of it is covered by their terms rather than ours. If you would rather nothing left the page at all, the plan itself needs neither box: it is built from your four answers before either one is used.

Analytics

We measure page views and basic performance so we know which parts of the site people actually use. That data is aggregate — page, country, device type, load time. We do not build a profile of you, we do not sell anything to anyone, and we run no advertising trackers.

Links out

A plan links to venues’ own websites and to mapping and booking services. Once you follow one of those links you are on their site under their policy, not ours. We take no commission on anything you book.
