Sixteen in One Smokies Cabin, Then Ribs Beside the River

One cabin, sixteen beds, a hot tub and a game room — nobody has to split up. The park is free and the trails run three to six hours, which suits whoever's still standing. Calhoun's seats big groups on the river; that's the night to book.

Questions

Do we need cars?
Yes. McGhee Tyson in Knoxville is about an hour out, and the cabin, the park trailheads and the rafting put-in are all drives. The Parkway distillery crawl is the one thing you can do on foot.
What can the whole sixteen do together?
Hiking in the Smokies, Ober Mountain and the Pigeon River rafting all take twenty. The moonshine crawl caps at fifteen, so one person sits that one out or you run it in two waves.
When should we go?
April through July, or September and October. Book the cabin early for the fall weekends and expect a line at Pancake Pantry whatever month it is.
