- Do we need cars?
- Yes — Rochester is about fifty-five minutes out and the wineries are spread along the lakeshore. Take the guided version of the Seneca Lake winery tour so nobody has to be the driver for five to seven hours.
- Can we split into two groups?
- Yes, and you'll want to. The spa at Belhurst Castle takes eight, the Watkins Glen gorge hike twenty, and the sunset cruise thirty — so the spa group and the hiking group can meet on the boat.
- When should we go?
- May through October. The dock and the gorge trail are the whole point, and both want warm weather — check Watkins Glen's trail status before you build a day around it, since it changes by season.
